SAVERNAKE FOREST
Located south of Marlborough, Savernake Forest is rich in history. It is a Special Site of Scientific Interest (SSSI) as well as a registered important historic park. The history of the forest goes back for a thousand years or more. Its long history of human management has created an outstanding legacy of old and ancient trees, rich landscapes, and diverse habitats.
The forest has a number of 'named trees', trees of great age or special significance. This gallery contains various trees and scenes from this 4500 acre forest other than the named trees. I travelled to Savernake Forest many times throughout the year, documenting everything that caught my eye.
