Current Gear
After starting on a Pentax me Super film camera back in the 1980s and setting up my own darkroom, I upgraded to a Nikon 801s and never looked back. My current setup is a couple of Nikon D850s with various Nikon lenses, an infrared-converted Nikon D7000 and a DJI Mavic 2 Pro drone for a different perspective.
I use both Nisi S6 150mm system as well as K&F magnetic filters. My tripod is a Benro Mach3 TMA38CL Carbon Fibre with a Benro GD3WH 3 Way Geared Head which gives precision framing.
A Little About Me
After serving 22 years in the RAF as a technician, I have recently retired from 23 years working in the NHS as an IT manager. After being diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer in 2019 (now, thankfully, discharged) I returned to work part-time as a data analyser.
During the 1980s/1990s I shot a lot of live concert images, supplying Blues magazines Juke Blues, British Blues Connection and Blues in Britain, amongst others, with photographs and reviews. I also supplied other magazines and have been used in a couple of blues books. Marrying my two main passions of photography and music was a great chance to meet and get to know many of my musical 'heroes'. My images were also used for CD covers and as promotional material.
After the turn of the century I started to concentrate more on Landscape and Nature photography which I still enjoy to this day.
